Enjoy selected glimpses from Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche’s Summer 2025 Teaching Tour — with images and videos from Gomde California, Gomde Mexico, Gomde Austria, Gomde UK, and Gomde Pyrenees. Rinpoche also visited other centers like in Malaysia and Gomde Denmark, and while not every stop is featured here, these highlights offer a heartfelt taste of the journey.
Rangjung Yeshe Gomde California
Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche began his American teaching tour in July at Rangjung Yeshe Gomde California, where he taught The Thirty-Seven Practices of the Bodhisattva and offered personal instructions. It was a profound joy and blessing to welcome Rinpoche once again.
During the seminar, the Bay Area Himalayan Sangha joined more than 250 participants for the Ngakso Puja. Rinpoche also led the Lama Norlha Puja, while Lama Tenzin Sangpo and Lama Tsultrim Sangpo enriched the program with evening teachings.
A special highlight was Rinpoche’s consecration of the temple site and the groundbreaking for Gomde’s future temple, which he named Tharpa Ling — the Sanctuary of Liberation, or Freedom.
Rinpoche then traveled to the Bay Area, where at the Sera Jay Foundation he offered teachings and led the full-day Tsokle Rinchen Trengwa Puja, auspiciously concluding his time in California.
Please enjoy a small selection of visual memories from those special events.
Gomde México
Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche’s second stop on his American teaching tour was Gomde México, where he generously bestowed the Vajrasattva Empowerment and taught on the four conditions for rebirth in Sukhavati, as well as the three Buddhist Vehicles, with a special emphasis on the Vajrayana view.
Together with the community, Rinpoche led the Lama Norlha Puja—one of the twelve manifestations of Guru Rinpoche, embodying all the enlightened wealth deities—as well as the Narak Kongshak Puja, a powerful practice of confession and purification. The seminar concluded with the Trinley Nyingpo Empowerment, a condensed sadhana centered on Guru Rinpoche.
During his visit, Rinpoche also explored Gomde Mexico’s vast land and discovered the perfect site for a future Buddhist temple, where prayers were offered to create auspicious circumstances.
Please rejoice in these precious moments and enjoy a short video from Rinpoche’s visit.
Gomde Germany - Austria
After completing his American teaching tour, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche continued on to Europe, with his next stop at Gomde Germany – Austria. Over five days, Rinpoche taught on the classic text The Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva, and further explored the profound perspectives of the Three Vehicles as understood from the Vajrayana view. In the final sessions, Rinpoche shared personal verses he had composed as direct guidance for his students.
Rinpoche also guided meditation sessions outdoors, overlooking Gomde’s pond, forest, and surrounding property, creating a truly picturesque and serene setting. All teachings of the seminar were simultaneously streamed online in several languages on DharmaSun.org, with a few thousand students joining from around the world. The seminar concluded with a full day of the Ngakso Puja, a powerful Vajrayana practice of mending and purification.
During his stay, Rinpoche also spoke of the great benefit of establishing a Buddhist University in Austria, at the heart of Europe, and visited a beautiful nearby castle that could serve as a possible location for this vision.

Rangjung Yeshe Gomde UK
After Austria, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche traveled on to Rangjung Yeshe Gomde UK . The first day began with the Ngakso Puja, a profound Vajrayana practice of mending and purification, followed on the second day by Vajrayana empowerments, joined by a large group of Bhutanese students. Over the next four days, Rinpoche expounded on a text he himself had recently composed, offering heartfelt guidance for close students along the Buddhist path in his lineage. The seminar concluded with the moving chanting of Calling the Guru from Afar, a text that deeply opened hearts and minds.
In a delightful twist, the weather defied Britain’s rainy reputation, blessing everyone with warm sunshine. Participants savored the beautiful summer days while gathering on Gomde UK’s vast and inspiring land.

Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Pyrénées
Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche’s final stop on this summer’s teaching tour was Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Pyrénées, in the mountains of southern France near the Spanish border.
Gomde Pyrenees holds a very special place in Rinpoche’s mandala. It is the retreat center where international students can enter the traditional three-year retreat. This December, the first three-year retreat with 14 participants will come to completion. Rinpoche gave teachings to the retreatants and rejoiced at their dedication, marveling at how precious it is that people devote more than three years to genuine Dharma practice.
In the summer of 2026, the next group of practitioners will begin their three-year retreat. On Rinpoche’s birthday, representatives of this group made offerings—expressing the most valuable gift of all: the true wish to practice and to deeply transform the mind.
Also on this joyful occasion, representatives from Gomdes, Dharma houses, and Rinpoche’s activities worldwide—such as Rangjung Yeshe Institute and Tara’s Triple Excellence program—offered prayers and requests for Rinpoche’s long life and for his activities to flourish without end.
During the week, Rinpoche also taught more than 100 students at Gomde Pyrenees on The Sphere of Refined Gold, a profound text that serves as the basis for annual three-month retreats at the center, and a gateway to putting Rinpoche’s deepest teachings into practice.
Rinpoche reminded everyone how perfect Gomde Pyrenees is for Dharma practice: vast mountain views, remote seclusion, the strong presence of Lama Tenzin Sangpo as resident teacher, the powerful support of the sacred land, and the strength of a practicing Sangha.
It has truly been a week full of blessings.
Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche's visit to a Benedictine Abbey in Austria
During his European teaching tour, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche paid a heartfelt visit to the Benedictine Abbey of Kremsmünster in Austria. Rinpoche wished to personally offer his respects to Abbot Bernhard Eckerstorfer, who warmly welcomed Rinpoche together with his small entourage of monks and team members from Gomde Germany–Austria.
As neighbors—since part of the Abbey’s forest borders Gomde—it was a very special occasion of friendship. Abbot Bernhard, together with Pater Robert Huber, kindly guided Rinpoche and the group through some of the highlights of the picturesque Kremsmünster monastery.
Abbot Bernhard, who was elected only a few months ago, also promised to pay a visit to Gomde in the future.
The meeting naturally gave rise to a spirit of interreligious dialogue. Rinpoche warmly invited the Abbot to visit Nepal one day, so that he too could be hosted and shown the monasteries there. During the gathering, the Evangelical Superintendent Dr. Gerold Lehner also joined, and together they shared a joyful time of exchange, dialogue, and mutual appreciation.
Encounters like these are a true inspiration—reminding us of the beauty of dialogue, respect, and shared values across traditions.
