A teaching on Reciting the Precious Kangyur at the Sacred Site of Lumbini

On this auspicious new moon day, we share a very important, beautiful teaching. Rinpoche carefully explains the purpose and the power of reciting the words of the Buddha in Pali, Chinese, Tibetan, English, and many other languages, in Lumbini, the sacred land of the Buddha’s birth, commencing on Lhabab Düchen, the great festival day that honors the Buddha’s return to earth from the heavenly realms. A world-wide sangha of monastics and laypeople will engage in this powerful practice of recitation at the Thousand Buddha Temple, before three enormous gold-gilded statues of the Buddhas of the Three Times, surrounded by one thousand Buddha statues. Rinpoche explains in detail how this recitation benefits the world at large, our own personal practice, and all sentient beings both immediately and for countless generations to come.

The Recitation of the Words of the Buddha takes place in conjunction with the 45th Annual Fall Seminar, with Rinpoche giving A Presentation of the Three Vehicles: View, Meditation, Conduct, and Fruition.

Everyone is invited to Lumbini to participate!
